Thornhill Woods Haunted House started out like any other decorated Halloween House. Back in 2004, we had a few creepy carved pumpkins that sat out on our porch with a big bowl of candy for the kiddies. We had just moved into our new neighborhood and soon came to realize that there were many families with kids that celebrated Halloween.

Every year we continued to add additional decorations which attracted more visitors; we soon became known in our community as the kid friendly Haunted House. So we decided to create a name for our Home Haunt (Thornhill Woods Haunted House) and raise money towards a special charity because of the amount of Trick R’ Treaters we received on Halloween night.

We were blessed to have two healthy boys, but there was a time when they both benefited from the excellent care that SickKids Hospital provides. Since Halloween is all about kids, we chose SickKids Foundation as our cause.

Every year, donations raised go towards children undergoing treatment at Sick Kids Hospital. Since they can’t leave the hospital, a portion of our fund provides these kids with costumes and Halloween candy to encourage the holiday spirit.

For Halloween 2011 our goal is to raise $5,000.
